I have always admired business women who make it a priority to hit the gym daily. Especially at lunch. If you are a woman, you either love the lunchtime workout because you get it done with, or you hate it because you feel look like death afterward. (This is me, but I have come to terms with that, and schedule my most important meetings in the morning).
That is just one of the many reasons why I am so in awe of Rain Henderson. As one of the founding partners of Henderson Heinrich LLP, Rain makes her lunchtime workouts a priority. Yes, she is busy. Yes, she is building a national law practice. Yes, she is known as one of the best lawyers in her field. Yes, she has a family. And yes, she makes time for the gym, every day!
Seeing Rain every day at noon in the gym serves as a constant source of inspiration and motivation. At 49, she is looking and feeling better than ever, and I know it is because she makes herself a priority. While I have yet to be running my own biz full-time, balancing clients, children and a man-partner, every lunch I am reminded that if Rain can make her workouts a priority, well then, I should be able to as well.
Today on the podcast, I take the elevator six floors up and sit down with Rain in her office to chat all about her career in law, why she started the firm and her secret to being married to the same guy for 23 years.
